Grimes Iowa before

We were called by this customer in Grimes, Iowa to look at a small window well that leaked water into their basement every time there were significant rains.

The original well was never attached to the foundation. After several freezing and thawing cycles, the well had moved out away from the foundation. This created a void that became a pathway for water to gush into and flooded the window and allowed water to infiltrate the basement.

We removed the old window well and then installed a brand-new window well that was properly sealed and attached. This proper installation will never pull away or leak! We used stainless steel anchors, underground-rated foundation sealant and a foundation-grade rubber membrane. It's our philosophy that there is no such thing as overkill when one’s basement is at risk to flooding.

We have already had a couple of “gully washer” type heavy rains since this job was completed and no water has found its way into the well. With no water in the well there is no water in the basement.

In the grand scheme of things, this was a small job, but not to this homeowner. Sometimes small deficiencies can really cause heartache but can be easily and inexpensively corrected if the right contractor does the work.
