This is the Southwoods Townhomes in Nevada, Iowa. This has been a multi-year project that we have been working on with them.

They have a large amount of Railroad Tie retaining walls that are deteriorating. We came in and removed the old Railroad tie wall, excavated and installed a new base. Then, we used our top-notch building materials, BRAND NEW 50-year-warranted timbers and built the new wall.

Think about this. Railroad ties are USED when you buy them. The railroad isn’t dumb—if they were so great, why would the railroad have removed them in the first place?

We utilized a better method of wall building than is commonly used. We use a crushed limestone base and geogrid (anchoring mesh) anchored into the earthen bank to eliminate leaning or bowing of the new wall. We then added the posts, set in concrete in front. The new wall is beautiful, well-built and will last for generations to come.
